A BMW, seized in a case of fraud and money laundering, was picked up by the CARA of the NAC

A BMW X5 entered the custody of the Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (CARA) of the NAC after it was seized in a fraud and money laundering case. Upon seizure, the car was announced in search, and recently the National Public Security Inspectorate (NPSI) managed to stop the car on a route in the country.

The action took place on the basis of the delegation of the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), which is in charge of the criminal case based on money laundering and fraud. Previously, in the present case, within the parallel financial investigations carried out, the CARA ordered the seizure of 10 means of transport and an immovable asset, located in Romania, with a total value of approximately 6.5 million lei.

We remind that, at the moment, the CARA is managing 52 seized means of transport, the value of which is estimated at around 20 million lei.

Recently, the Agency pre-sold 3 cars worth approximately 1 million lei.
