Two policemen from Orhei and an intermediary detained by NAC in a corruption case

Two police officers from the Police Inspectorate of Orhei were arrested by NAC employees and anticorruption prosecutors an hour ago. They are suspected to would have exteorted MDL 3000 from two locals, through an intermediary, to cover up a case of hooliganism. According to the denouncer, the policemen claimed that they could convince the commissar to solve the issue favorably.
Arrest in the act occurred in Orhei and money was found in the personal car of one of the policemen. The intermediary who transmitted the MDL 3,000 under control of NAC was caught on the spot.
A criminal case was opened for passive corruption and complicity in corruption.If convicted, the policemen face from 5 to 10 years in prison with a fine of from 6000 to 8000 conventional units with the deprivation of the right to hold certain public posts or practice certain activities for a term of 7 10 years.
