1000 euros for a driving license. A man from Hincesti was detained by the NAC and the prosecutors of the municipality of Cahul in a case of influence peddling

Officers of the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC) and the prosecutors of the municipality of Cahul have conducted searches at a man from Hincesti in a case of influence peddling. The suspect allegedly promised a man to help him obtain a category B driving license more easily in exchange for an illicit remuneration.

According to the whistle-blower, the suspect allegedly claimed that he had influence over civil servants within the Hincesti Vehicle Registration and Driver Documentation Office and that he could determine them to favour the candidate in the theoretical and practical test, and for his services he allegedly demanded and received 1000 euros, without honouring his promise.

To accumulate evidence, under the procedural leadership of the prosecutors of the Cahul Municipal Prosecutor's Office, searches were carried out in the suspect's car and home, as a result of which relevant evidence for the investigation of the case was seized. The man was detained for 72 hours.
