Chief architect of Hincesti district investigated by NAC and prosecutors for corruption. Searches are taking place in several locations across the country

Officers of the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC), in collaboration with prosecutors from the Chisinau City Prosecutor's Office, are conducting criminal proceedings in 11 cases opened for passive corruption and influence peddling, targeting the chief architect of Hincesti district.
According to the accumulated evidence, the official allegedly demanded and received sums of money ranging between 200 and 500 euros from several residents of the district in exchange for issuing or expediting the issuance of permits for the demolition, construction and design of real estate located on the territory of Hincesti district. He is also suspected of having claimed undue benefits for influencing members of the reception committees upon completion of construction works.
The searches are being carried out at several addresses in Chisinau municipality and Ialoveni and Hincesti districts. The actions aim to establish all the circumstances of the case, identify all the persons involved and hold them criminally liable, according to the legislation in force.
It is worth noting that the official in question was previously targeted in another criminal case under examination by prosecutors within the PCCOCS, for acts of corruption. According to the law, any person is presumed innocent until a final court decision is rendered.
The investigations in this case are ongoing.
