An employee of the General Inspectorate of Carabinieri from the north of the country, detained by the NAC in flagrante for a bribe of 450 euros

The NAC officers and the prosecutors of the municipality of Balti recently detained an employee of the Northern Regional Directorate of the General Inspectorate of Carabinieri (IGC), in flagrante, while receiving a bribe of 450 euros. According to the complaint filed with the NAC, the carabinieri allegedly demanded the money to settle a minor offense case.

In fact, this is a minor offense case managed by the Police in which a fine was to be applied for the prohibited parking of a car, which the suspect allegedly promised to reduce to the minimum amount. In exchange for 450 euros, he also claimed that he could influence the patrol inspectors to release the car placed in the special parking lot, to pay the fine, the removal fee and to retain a portion for himself for the intermediary services.

Today, the NAC officers and prosecutors caught the IGC employee red-handed at the moment of receiving the money, the amount of 450 euros being found on him.

We remind that all criminal investigation actions take place under the procedural leadership of the Bălți Municipal Prosecutor's Office.
