NAC and APO conduct searches in Criuleni in a criminal case regarding voter corruption. 9 people are targeted

On the morning of September 26, 2025, the National Anti-corruption Centre ()NAC and the Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office (APO )are conducting criminal investigations in several localities in the Criuleni district in a case initiated on the fact of voter corruption by a political party, declared unconstitutional. The investigated case concerns electoral corruption actions, manifested by offering and giving money and goods in order to determine certain people to exercise their electoral rights in the parliamentary elections of September 28, 2025 in a certain way.
According to the accumulated materials, several groups of people previously involved in massive voter corruption in the presidential elections in the fall of 2024 are currently active in the Criuleni district. These groups are said to have resumed their illegal activities, preparing the implementation of similar schemes for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
In fact, it was established that the respective groups are organized and coordinated by local leaders from the city of Criuleni and the localities of Râșcova, Răculești, Cruglic, Boșcana, Slobozia-Dușca, Bălțata, Mărdăreuca, Mălăieștii Noi, Sagaidac, Corjova and Izbiște. Following the investigations, it was found that an organized electoral corruption scheme is taking shape in these localities, which involves drawing up nominal lists containing personal data (including addresses and contact numbers) of people willing to vote in favour of a certain political party, in exchange for sums of money.
Up to this stage of the investigations, 9 people have been identified who have clearly defined roles within the network. They are connected to the leaders of the targeted political group and carry out tasks set by them, in exchange for illicit remuneration. At this time, several searches are being carried out at the homes, cars and offices of the suspects. So far, anti-corruption officers have seized financial means, cards, draft documents, mobile phones and other information carriers.
We remind that any person shall be presumed innocent until a final and irrevocable decision is made by the court.
