Officers of the National Anti-corruption Centre and prosecutors of the Balti Municipal Prosecutor's Office arrested a man suspected of influence peddling. He allegedly demanded and received illicit means for obtaining a driving license.

According to the informant, the suspect, who holds the position of driving instructor at a driving school in Balti, allegedly demanded 900 euros, claiming that he would have influence over employees of the Balti Vehicle Registration and Driver Documentation Office and that he could determine them to organize the successful passing of the theoretical and practical test for the category B driving exam.

The detention took place at the time of the transfer of the money. Following the body search, the financial means, transferred under the control of anticorruption officers, were seized. The man was detained for 72 hours.
