NAC continues criminal investigation in the case of a fire in a residential building in Durlești. Searches are being carried out at the owner of the construction company

The National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC) and prosecutors have announced the conduct of new criminal investigation in the case of a fire in the attic of a residential building on Tudor Vladimirescu Street 75/1 in Durlești. At this time, searches are taking place at the owner of the company responsible for the construction of the building. The NAC officers have collected information carriers and other relevant evidence from the scene.
We remind that 13 people responsible for the completion, authorization, construction and reception of the residential building in Durlești, affected by the fire in May, were previously searched by NAC officers in a criminal case initiated on corruption-related offenses. Among them are:
• responsible from the City Hall of the city. Durlești;
• officials from the Chișinăuproiect Municipal Enterprise;
• former employees of the Technical Supervision Agency;
• former employees of the Emergency Situations Directorate;
• site supervisor;
• designer;
• technical manager;
• the beneficiary of the construction;
• the owner of the land;
• other persons who mediated all the work processes.
In the case, the criminal investigation body of the National Anti-corruption Centre issued dispositional acts regarding the recognition of 10 persons as suspects. The criminal investigation actions in this case continue in order to establish the entire circle of persons involved.
We remind that any person shall be presumed innocent until a final and irrevocable court decision is rendered.
