The NAC director met with the representatives of the European Commission, EU Delegation and UNDP Moldova to discuss strengthening institutional and operational capacities

Alexandr Pînzari, the director of the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC), held a meeting today with Peter Wagner, head of the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) at the European Commission, and Daniela Gasparikova, resident representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Republic of Moldova. Mate Csicsai, deputy head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, also attended the discussions.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the main outcomes achieved by the NAC in preventing and fighting corruption, as well as priorities for reinforcing institutional and operational capacities to address emerging risks. In this context, emphasis was placed on expanding the institution's mandate to investigate economic and financial crimes, alongside establishing a specialized unit dedicated to the investigation and analysis of virtual assets.

The NAC director underlined the imperative to continuously adapt investigative and enforcement tools: " Modern crime is constantly evolving and adapting. The CNA is keeping pace with these challenges, while the results achieved so far help us identify vulnerabilities and further enhance our intervention capacities," Alexandr Pînzari stated.

In conclusion, the participants reaffirmed their mutual support and readiness to advance international cooperation and modernize the operational mechanisms of the National Anti-corruption Centre.
