NAC marks International Anti-Corruption Day with a training session at Parliament - “Integrity for Good Governance”
On the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, the National Anti-Corruption Centre (NAC) held a training session at the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova dedicated to Members of Parliament, staff from the offices of persons with public dignity and civil servants. The activity, entitled “Integrity for Good Governance”, aimed to promote institutional integrity standards and strengthen a transparent, ethical and accountable governance framework.
During the training, the NAC officers presented the anti-corruption mechanisms and tools necessary to ensure an integrity public sector, explained the importance of respecting the norms of conduct, transparency of the decision-making process and access to information of public interest. Participants were informed about their responsibilities in the exercise of public functions, as well as about the consequences of a lack of integrity.
The event highlighted that integrity is a fundamental condition for good governance, for increasing citizens' trust in state institutions and for reducing the phenomenon of corruption. It was emphasized that promoting integrity represents a shared responsibility, a long-term commitment and an essential element in building a citizen-oriented administration.
The NAC appreciates the constructive collaboration between the Legislature and the institutions responsible for integrity, a collaboration that allows for the creation of a transparent and efficient public environment. The results obtained to date confirm that only through joint efforts can fairness, professionalism and legality be strengthened in the public service.
