A delegation of the National Anti-Corruption Centre (NAC), led by Director Alexandr Pînzari, participates in Doha, Qatar, in the 11th session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC CoSP11) – the most important global forum dedicated to preventing and combating corruption.

During the event, NAC representatives presented the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in the field of anti-corruption. According to them, in early 2025, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) assessed the national anti-corruption efforts, including the process of developing and implementing the Anti-Corruption Program. The Republic of Moldova obtained a score of 86.2 points, almost 10 points more than in 2023.

“This development reflects the teamwork between public institutions, civil society, international partners, the private sector and citizens of the Republic of Moldova. Anti-corruption activity is effective only when there is involvement from all”, emphasized the representatives of the NAC.

The delegation includes NAC officers specialized in corruption prevention, recovery of criminal assets and international cooperation, who actively contribute to the discussions and debates on the implementation of the Convention and the strengthening of international collaboration. The delegation of the Republic of Moldova is also represented by the Prosecutor General, Alexandru Machidon, and the Chief Prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, Marcel Dumbrăvan.

During the five days of the conference, participants assess progress in the implementation of the UNCAC and identify new tools and strategies for the prevention of corruption, as well as for the recovery of assets derived from crimes.

The event is attended by delegations from 192 states, representatives of the United Nations, international organizations, civil society and the private sector.

Participation in the event was ensured by development partners.
