NAC Synthesis: Searches in a file regarding the commissioning of a 10 million lei sewage project in the village of Bilicenii Vechi and seizures applied to assets worth about 3.3 million lei

The National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC) has announced the summary of the activities carried out during the previous week. Thus, anticorruption officers carried out searches in a file regarding the commissioning of a 10 million lei sewage project in the village of Bilicenii Vechi, without verifying the quality and volume of the works. In the mentioned case, a representative of a construction company, a technical manager and an inspector from the Northern Territorial Directorate for Technical Supervision and Control of INST are being investigated for active corruption. During the reporting period, the NAC criminal investigation officers initiated 19 files and proposed 14 files for resolution. At the moment, 3 people are in the Detention Centre, and 2 individuals, targeted in the Centre’s files, are arrested and detained in penitentiary institutions.
At the same time, the NAC's Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (CARA) has seized assets of illicit origin worth a total of approximately 3.3 million lei, as part of ongoing investigations. These include 3 means of transportation, one residential and one non-residential room, 10 agricultural lands, one land for construction and cash.
In the field of corruption prevention, the Legislation Directorate has finalized and submitted to the authors 11 expert reports and an opinion on draft normative acts. At the same time, 5 anti-corruption trainings were organized for approximately 360 people, 4 operational analyses and one strategic were finalized, and another 100 studies are in the process of being worked on.
Also during the mentioned period, 1787 materials were registered in the NAC Chancellery, 143 integrity records were issued and 36 calls were received at the National Anti-corruption Hotline - 0 800 55555.
