This week, the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC) formed a new team of young volunteers who have chosen to actively engage in promoting integrity and the fight against corruption. For several days, these young people participated in the initial training of anti-corruption volunteers, an experience that provided them with more than just information. The young people discovered how corruption emerged and how it has evolved over time, what the prevention and combating mechanisms are, what the role of the National Anti-corruption Centre is in this process, and what the institution’s activity looks like from the inside.

The new volunteers learned about the mission, duties, and responsibilities of the NAC, about criminal investigation, about effective public communication, and visited key areas of the institution during a tour. At the end, each volunteer received the set of documents that officially confirm their status as an “anti-corruption volunteer.”

The training of the team was possible thanks to the support provided by AO HOMECARE and AO CASMED, within the project "Health Equity through Social Responsibility", implemented by the Swiss Red Cross and financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

The NAC is among the first specialized central public authorities, at national and global level, to implement (in 2016) anti-corruption volunteer programs, implementing the appropriate standards in this field. Over 200 anti-corruption volunteers have worked within the institution over 9 years.
