A patrol inspector from the north of the country is being investigated by the officers of the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC) and prosecutors from the Bălți Municipal Prosecutor's Office in a case of influence peddling. He is suspected of demanding illicit financial means from a person to help him complete his category "C" driving license.

According to the accumulated materials, the suspect allegedly demanded 1000 euros, claiming that he would have influence over the employees of the Vehicle Registration and Driver Documentation Office (SÎTCCA) in Bălți and that he could determine them to adopt a favourable decision to pass the driving exam for the theoretical and practical test for category "C", with the subsequent completion and issuance of the driving license.

Today, the NAC officers conducted searches at the home and in the policeman's car under the procedural direction of the prosecutors of the municipality of Balti. He admitted his guilt and is currently being investigated at liberty.
