Investigation into corruption in the amnesty process: NAC, APO and INI carried out searches in several locations across the country

Officers of the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC), together with prosecutors from the Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office (APO) and the National Investigation Inspectorate (INI), carried out searches this morning in several locations across the country. The actions took place within the framework of a criminal case targeting possible acts of active and passive corruption of individuals involved in the process of implementing and applying the amnesty granted on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Moldova, as well as in the application of the provisions of Articles 91 and 92 of the Criminal Code. The investigated acts resulted in the release from detention of several individuals sentenced to life imprisonment.

Following the searches, several documents and other objects relevant to the investigation were seized.

Criminal investigation actions will continue, to establish all the circumstances of the case and accumulate the evidence necessary to adopt a legal decision.
