A man from the capital was detained by the NAC in a new episode of the investigation into the illicit financing of political parties
The National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC) continues to administer evidence in criminal cases targeting the illicit financing of political parties. This morning, the NAC officers detained for 72 hours a man from Chisinau who allegedly acted in complicity with the person from the Anenii Noi district, detained the other day by anti-corruption officers.
According to preliminary data from the investigation, the suspect was allegedly involved in the process of centralized transmission of financial means during the September 2025 electoral period to multiple individuals, including public officials who are in the process of identification. Following the searches carried out, documents, information storage devices, as well as other evidence relevant to the criminal process were discovered and seized. The detained person is to be placed in the NAC's detention centre.
The National Anti-corruption Centre mentions that all actions are carried out under the procedural leadership of the prosecutors of the Chisinau municipality, and the person concerned benefits from the presumption of innocence, according to the law.
