A man was detained by the NAC and APO in an active corruption case. He allegedly facilitated the transfer of 60,000 dollars via electronic wallets
Officers from the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC), under the procedural direction of the Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office (APO), conducted searches today in an active corruption case. Following these actions, a man was detained for 72 hours and placed in the NAC detention centre.
According to the case files, he is suspected of having facilitated, through electronic wallets, the transfer of 60,000 dollars—money that was part of a total sum of 120,000 dollars intended for bribing public officials. The funds were allegedly offered to prevent them from documenting certain criminal activities.
The detention was carried out as a continuation of investigations in a corruption case connected to the matter being investigated by the NAC and APO, in which, on March 31, a prosecutor and four police officers were detained on suspicion of complicity in passive corruption involving a demand for 400,000 dollars.
Criminal investigation actions are ongoing to establish all circumstances and identify all individuals involved.
