The National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC) celebrates today 23 years since its founding – an anniversary that highlights the institution’s constant commitment to combating corruption and promoting integrity in society. During the event, which brought together the institution’s staff, veterans, guests of honour and high-ranking officials, the NAC Director, Major General Alexandr Pînzari, expressed gratitude to all those who have contributed, over the years, to the development of the institution, especially the veterans who laid its foundations, as well as the current employees who act daily with responsibility and professionalism.

“It is a moment in which we reaffirm our mission and recognize the merits of those who built and strengthened the NAC. Therefore, I want to address our veterans, those who were present from the first days, who built with conviction and courage an institution that today remains a respected authority with a firm mandate to fight corruption,” declared the NAC director.

In his speech, the director also highlighted the partnerships with state institutions – the Prosecutor’s Office, the Police, the SIS, the Government, the Parliament and the Presidency – but also with international partners, who supported the joint efforts to strengthen the rule of law. According to the NAC director, state institutions chose to mobilize in times when consolidated actions were needed.

Present at the event, Prime Minister Dorin Recean welcomed the efforts of the NAC in the fight against corruption: "In real progress in combating corruption, quality matters more than reported figures and graphs. Actions matter, less than statements. What matters are concrete results that lead to a state that is freer from corruption, with fair institutions and a society that feels safe and trusts the state's ability to do justice," declared Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

The chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Security and Public Order, Lilian Carp, the acting Prosecutor General, Alexandru Machidon, and the head of the SINDLEX union, Angela Otean, addressed congratulatory messages to the NAC staff.

Several officers were mentioned for their successes in their work. As a sign of appreciation, they received government and parliamentary diplomas and institutional distinctions. Also, veterans of the National Anti-corruption Centre and representatives of the former leadership of the Centre received from the institution chest badges “Honorary Collaborator of the NAC” and medals “Veteran of the NAC”.

The event ended with a message addressed to the families of those who work within the NAC. Alexandr Pînzari: “I express my deep gratitude to our families, who are by our side with patience and understanding. Take care of your loved ones, give them attention and time. Parents, children, relatives, friends are an important part of our lives, and the time we give them is of the greatest value. And the National Anti-corruption Centre remains our second family and second home. Let us continue to treat our institution with the same care and attachment that we have always demonstrated. Happy Birthday, NAC! Happy Birthday to all those who serve the Republic of Moldova with honour!”
