The NAC and APO are conducting searches at ISST "InTehAgro" in corruption case
Officers from the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC), under the procedural supervision of prosecutors from the Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office (APO), are conducting criminal investigation actions regarding acts of corruption committed by officials at the State Inspectorate for Technical Supervision "InTehAgro" (ISST "InTehAgro") and individuals affiliated with driving schools in the Chisinau municipality, a total of five individuals are under investigation.
According to evidence gathered during the criminal investigation, officials from the Chisinau territorial subdivision of ISST "InTehAgro," acting in collusion with individuals from driving schools, allegedly asked and received sums ranging from 3,000 to 20,000 lei in exchange for the illegal issuance of documents and the facilitation of certain procedures. Specifically, in return for illicit payments made directly or through intermediaries, they allegedly assisted candidates in obtaining category "H" driving licenses, registering and re-registering machinery used in construction and agriculture, issuing technical inspection reports for individuals and legal entities, and issuing certificates of pledge registration.
At this stage, searches are being conducted at the homes, vehicles, and offices of employees from the Chisinau subdivision of ISST "InTehAgro," as well as at the home of the administrator of a driving school in the Chisinau municipality. The suspects will be investigated while at liberty.
We note that any person shall be presumed innocent until a final and irrevocable court judgment is pronounced.
