The NAC and Chisinau prosecutors conduct searches in a case of abuse of office with considerable damages caused to investors of a residential building

CNA și procurorii mun. Chișinău efectuează percheziții într-un dosar de abuz în serviciu cu prejudicii considerabile cauzate investitorilor unui bloc locativ

Officers of the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC), together with prosecutors from the Chisinau Prosecutor's Office, are conducting criminal investigations against several insolvency administrators, as well as at the headquarters of the Union of Authorized Administrators. The actions are taking place within a criminal case initiated on acts of abuse of office, which led to the causing of particularly large material damages to persons who invested in the construction of a residential building in Chisinau.

According to the case materials, the apartments that were to be transferred to the investors upon completion of the construction works, according to previously concluded investment contracts, were allegedly alienated without their notification.

At the same time, searches were also carried out at the homes of the persons who purchased the disputed apartments, in order to establish their role in committing the crimes investigated by the National Anti-corruption Centre.

Following the searches, documents relevant to the criminal case were seized, including investment contracts, accounting documents reflecting the payments received for the alienated apartments, drafts, as well as electronic devices containing information pertinent to the investigation.

The persons concerned are to be investigated at liberty, and criminal investigation actions continue to establish all the circumstances and hold the guilty accountable, according to the law.

We remind that any person shall be presumed innocent until a final decision of the court.
