Private companies invited to compete for the Business Integrity Award, to be awarded by the NAC

Private companies are invited to participate in the Business Integrity Award, to be awarded by the National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC) within the “Trademark of the Year 2024” contest. The contest, launched on Monday by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the State Agency for Intellectual Property in partnership with the National Anti-corruption Centre, aims to contribute to the development of the Republic of Moldova’s economy by increasing the competitiveness and enhancing the capacities of local enterprises in creating and promoting trademarks on the domestic and foreign markets, their qualitative assessment, including based on consumer opinion.

Within the framework of the competition, the NAC will award private companies that implement integrity standards in the private sector in the nomination "Implementation of Integrity Standards in the Private Sector" to encourage private companies that implement effective anti-corruption procedures in their activity.

The Business Integrity Award comes to support honest business and strengthen the integrity component in the private sector by creating a fair competitive environment, based on standards of integrity, transparency and professionalism in interaction with the public sector.

The competition is open to commercial companies, representatives of large, small and medium-sized businesses, including state-owned enterprises, municipal enterprises and joint-stock companies in which the state holds the majority stake and which hold at least one application for trademark registration or a registered trademark.

Candidates will submit to the competition organizing committee:

• Application for participation (www.chamber.md );

• Certificate of registration of the enterprise (copy);

• Self-assessment report on anti-corruption initiatives (www.chamber.md ) with supporting materials - approved and implemented policy documents (in the areas of ethics, compliance, anti-corruption, anti-bribery, etc.); Code of Ethics/Conduct; procedures for reporting irregularities at work and protection of whistleblowers; procedures for resolving conflicts of interest; procedures for declaring and evaluating gifts; internal control procedures, etc.

Competition stages:

1) February 24, 2025 – launch of the competition;

2) March 28, 2025 – end of the stage of submitting applications for participation;

3) April 09, 2025 – end of the stage of submitting presentation packages;

4) April 02-14, 2025 – conducting the consumer survey;

5) April 15-25, 2025 – the activity of the expert group and the organizing committee;

6) June 2025 – Official Award Ceremony of the winners of the competition.

The competition applications can be submitted starting from February 24, 2025 to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova.
